Goodbye Retrology

It breaks my heart that Retrology is closing. :(

The sim where I went on my first hunt (Easter 2008), bought my first Lindens, and fell in love with SL fashion... It will all go poof after this Monday, April 12th. The only way I could think to pay my respects was to share some of my favorite things that I bought there over the years.

The dress in the first picture is from Artilleri and it's still a stunner of a piece. I mean, really - skintight strapless, zebra print dress - that's just foreverhot. The dress in the last picture, from Icing, is its polar opposite. While, it too is a classic design, it is instead all sweet and innocent.

The dress in the center picture is from Thimbles and it's the very first dress I ever bought in SL. The hat is from Split Pea and it's just so fun to wear. You can get both pieces, along with everything else in both Thimbles and Split Pea for just $25L - only at Retrology - until the sim closes. Good time to stock up!! :D

The skin in the first picture is another look at the YS&YS Group Gift skin that I showed you the other day. Here you get a glimpse of the hair base that is included. The hat hair is a recent Group Gift from Lelutka that is still in notices. You get an entire fatpack of hair color options. The shoes in the last picture are an old favorite that I've mentioned before, from ETD's Discount Room. In case you missed them, all colors are just $1L. And, finally, all of poses featured in today's post can be found at the Pose Fair. The one from Dare comes at an extra super crazy bargain, if you get the fatpack. ;D

Long Past Breakfast

There's nothing quite like starting off the day with a massive Photoshop failure and 5 dumbfounded tech support personnel.... Anyway, let's get to it!

Loads of great stuff at this week's $50L Friday event. This is a Fawn has the fabulous little V-Neck mini dress in slate blue. The platinum blond pompadour hair is from Lamb. There's also a red shade of the same style available. The tattoo is from the big sale at Artilleri, which is not to be missed. If you don't already own everything in the shop, now's your chance. And I just love her rockabilly style tattoos. It's a small section, but as with everything else in the shop, the quality is top notch.

The cranberry colored vest from Schadenfreude is perfect match for the red boots from Casa del Shai. Both items are gorgeously textured, with outstanding details.

5th & Oxford has this sexy little tank and mini skirt set on offer this week, with loads of layering options. And the boots are from the sale at Surf Co., also on the Artilleri sim, and they come with dozens of color change options. The texturing is just to die for; an unbelievable steal for just $100L. You might need to Fatpack them.

Burning Life of course! :D

I am so excited for the grand opening of this year's Burning Life festival! I didn't get to do my own plot this year (sadface!), but I am helping a friend with some finishing touches. So, that gave me early access to the sims. And, let me tell you, you are in for a major treat! There are some astoundingly gorgeous builds just waiting for you to ooo and ahh and explore. But since all of the builders are furiously rushing to the deadline, I'm not allowed to give you shots of full builds just yet. Till the sims open to the public this weekend, I can only show you teeny tiny peeks & give the event the hype it so rightly deserves :D

Meanwhile, back in fashionland, it's $50L Friday time! Did you spend as much as I did? It was kinda hard to say no to so many fabulous items. I had been eyeing those leggings in the top picture from So Many Styles for a while. How awesome they went so well with the latest wild hair-do Group Gift from Pididdle. If SL ate yours the way it did mine, rest assured you can still get it from the Subscriber service at the mainstore. The fabulous retro dress above is from none other than the queen of retro in SL - Artilleri. And that killer hair is from the diva of all things ridiculously fabulous, Clawtooth by Clawtooth. Is it wrong that I want to build my wardrobe around that hair, just so I can wear it all the time? (And, yes, the birds chirp when you click them! >.<) The pose is from Long Awkward Pose & it's from the Girls' Fatpack. There's one for guys, as well. I got them both just cause they're all too good to pass up.

Last but certainly not least is this mini sweater dress from Fishy Strawberry. Perfect sculpty prim work as usual. I swear I just want to snuggle up in that dress in RL, it's so comfy. And to finish the look, there's a matching fatpack of hot pink leggings, also $50L. There's so much more great stuff this week. Just like the Burning Life builds, I wish I could show you everything. But you'll just have to scope them out for yourself. Have fun! :D

More Wave!

To entice you into the new group, the owner has put these mega sexy jeans in the notices as a group gift for you to grab. The ripped-to-shred pants are super tight (the way I like them!) and come in super low rise, mid rise, and low rise with peek-a-boo undies. The green cami is a freebie as well.

The belt I am wearing with the dangling cross is from .:*Wave.:* as well and I think it cost 59L (not 100% positive). There isn't anything in the store above 100L, and most things seems to cost around 50L-75L. Totally worth a trip!! The items are realistic, but creative, and will stay in my top faves for a while i think.

And the hair goes great with the Chai skins I am wearing, but then again, I always love my Chai skins.
